Business savvy property investor Darren Lim was attending a private inspection in Queensland when the agent didn’t show up to the appointment. This was the catalyst for him deciding to start his own Agency in Logan City.
“I thought to myself, how hard is it to be where you say you are going to be? As a business owner for many years, I would not have let something like that happen, and I wanted to make a difference.” Mr Lim said.
Having owned and run several successful franchise businesses across New South Wales and Victoria, Mr Lim’s expertise lies within attracting, training and retaining quality staff with a passion for customer service.
It wasn’t until 2010 that he ventured into real estate following a string of property investments. Mr Lim said “I knew I wanted to run my own office, but I wanted to be an expert in the industry first. I spent ten years working under some of the major brands in Logan, before deciding to branch out on my own”.
“Choosing a brand was difficult as I was approached by many. What sold me on Professionals was their membership structure, but more importantly their relationship with the National Breast Cancer Foundation.”
Professionals celebrated a milestone of $4 million in donations raised over their 17-yearpartnership, with a portion of every settlement being donated. The partnership hits very close to home to Mr Lim as his mother battled breast cancer for many years.
“I am so grateful that my mother made a full recovery, and I wanted to do my part and give back.” Mr Lim said. “As a diamond partner of NBCF, I feel like this is a way that I can contribute to the research that helped my mother.”
The office will be hosting a Cambodian themed grand opening with lion dancers and a smoking ceremony. Being Cambodian himself, Mr Lim said that culture plays a big role in his approach to customer service: “There are a lot of different ethnic groups in Logan and like myself, for most of them English is their second language.”
“I have found that the community here in Logan want to come into the office and speak with someone that will help them communicate their needs. I take the time to speak with everyone and I think that’s why I have gained the respect of many in Logan.”
Mr Lim is very passionate about the area and is actively involved in the Logan City Council and volunteers his time in any way he can for the better of the Logan community. Now as the Principal of Professionals Logan City, Mr Lim is excited to grow the team and set the new standard of service in Logan.
