Passionate Sydney property industry figure George Elias and his independent real estate agency Saile Property Agents are embracing the Professionals Group Australia banner.
Mr Elias, who has been working in Blacktown since 2015, said his agency will open its doors from Monday, March 7 as Professionals Blacktown.
The former mortgage broker started his real estate career with a rival agency before taking a leaf out of a global television phenomenon Oprah Winfrey’s book when launching his own agency in 2019.
“Oprah Winfrey called her television production company Harpo, which is her first name spelt backwards,’’ he said.
“She is now a billionaire so I thought if it worked for her, I would spell Elias backwards and came up with Saile Property Agents.”
Mr Elias said he was excited about growing his business further under the Professionals banner.
“I really do enjoy helping people and because of my background in the finance industry, I understand just how difficult it can be for people wanting to buy in the property market,’’ he said.
“It can be a very difficult time for people. I like to have honest conversations with them because I don’t like to give people false hopes.
“Sometimes that can be detrimental in the short-term, but I am firm believer that honesty is always the best policy.
“I am much more interested in building long-term relationships with clients rather than making a quick buck from one-off transactions.”
Mr Elias said Blacktown was a fascinating real estate market because the council area was one of the largest in New South Wales.
“The property market in Blacktown in recent years has been crazy,’’ Mr Elias said. “There has been a lot of investment in infrastructure in the region and there is now a master plan to change the main street into a major shopping district.
“Over the past couple of years, prices have gone up significantly and this has been fuelled by a lot of buyer demand and not a lot of supply.
“However, the market is now coming back to a more sustainable level with significantly more supply coming onto the market, giving buyers more choices and more opportunities.”
Mr Elias said a lot of the sellers in Blacktown now were either long-term residents or people looking to upgrade their properties.
“You tend to find people hold onto properties Blacktown for a long time while on the other side of the coin, many of the buyers are being motivated by the search for affordable properties to find long-term family homes.
“A lot of young families come to this area because they can still find a decent house on a decent sized property for a reasonable price.”
