You probably have plenty of wall space and believe or not this can be utilized for extra storage. Hooks take up very little space but they hold a great deal. Hooks on the back walls of your closet are perfect, just as they work extremely well on the backs of doors. They provide the perfect venue for hanging, purses, school bags, or towels, just as an example. There are many different styles of hooks on the market and different options for mounting them. You are sure to find the perfect size and those that will fit in nicely with your décor.
Headboards for extra storage
There are the standard flat types which look lovely but have no storage features. By going for a boxed version you have just provided yourself with some compact but ideal extra storage space. This is ideal for putting small but important or valuable items in a safe place. Some even come with small drawers built into them. Or, the alternative is to design and build one yourself.
Look for the little unused recesses in your home
You will be amazed at all the little nooks and crannies that are going unused in your home. They are ideal for storing small items, or for putting items on display. They are ideal for displaying candles or other small items.
Don’t neglect the use of baskets
These are an item that look good in any corner of the room, and have the capacity to hold a fair number of items. You can even get stackable baskets to maximise their storage offerings. They are perfect for storing magazines, or can even be used in kitchen cupboards to keep all the spices in one neatly organized collection.
Compression bags
These are storage bags that once filled you suck all the air out of them using your vacuum. They then compress into a tight storage unit. They are ideal for bulky items like extra towels, bedding and even blankets or pillows. Once compressed, they take up very little room and can be easily stacked upon each other. You can store them on the floor of your closet, or the top shelf of your wardrobe, or even under your bed.
Magnets
Not many people realize that magnets are wonderful as a storage resource. A strip magnet can easily hold knives and utensils in a safe and orderly manner, ready for use. Once you start using the power of the magnet as a storage solution in the kitchen, you will quickly find other potential storage uses for them as well.
