Last Friday the 18th October was our annual National Breast Cancer Foundation Pink Ribbon Breakfast hosted by Professionals WA/NT and it was another huge hit raising over $90,000. This year again raffle tickets were the flavour of the day with over $16,000 raised and another $18,000 from the Mazda 2 which our good friends and sponsors Wanneroo Mazda kindly donated once again. The rest of the funds were made up from ticket sales and auction items which always generate lots of interest with a Daniel Kerr signed and framed set reaching $700 itself.
We also heard the heart wrenching true story from an every day person whom has travelled the horrific breast cancer road and survived, Lizzie Davies had the room spellbound with her courageous story and the room then turned to laughter with the comedy act lightening up the mood followed by a fashion show on our very own runway. There was of course breakfast in there too and the Hyatt staff once again rolled out another flawless breakfast for 471 people.
We had a fantastic response from both sponsors and very generous donations which without, this event would struggle to run. So to everyone involved from our valued sponsors, the donations from members and many local Perth businesses, our volunteers, Jenni and Diana from State Service Centre who spend hours setting up the room and organising behind the scenes. Thankyou.
