After a successful career in property sales and marketing spanning almost 35 years, Camberwell agent Spiro Perdikomatis has opened his own office under the Professionals banner in Melbourne’s inner east.
Mr Perdikomatis is drawing on his extensive experience in the development industry to deliver a boutique service to the local market of Camberwell, Surrey Hills and Canterbury, which he says has shown a great deal of resilience despite the challenging conditions of the past year.
“Over many years it has been an area where properties have maintained their value and seen steady increases,” he said.
Professionals Camberwell will operate from 246 Warrigal Road, where the Perdikomatis family has operated an architectural practice since 1998. Mr Perdikomatis and his family have lived in the area since 1978.
Mr Perdikomatis said he chose to join Professionals because it is a network rather than a franchise system, which offers him the flexibility to grow the business as a true independent while enjoying the support of one of Australia’s fastest growing real estate groups.
“We are planning to create a specialised boutique real estate agency, covering all areas of the market including residential and commercial. We will bring to the business a live local, sell local philosophy with specialised one-on-one service.
“With my background in the building, design, town planning and renovation and extension sectors, I am also able to advise buyers and vendors on any developments they may have planned or wish to explore, to better maximise any result for their property.
“Despite the year we’ve had in Melbourne, there’s a lot happening in the area with purchasers wishing to move into the area to knock-down-rebuild, develop, explore apartment developments or living, or simply buy the splendour of what this great suburb has to offer, through general market sales activity.”
The Camberwell market is supported by its proximity to Camberwell Grammar, Canterbury Girls’ Secondary College, Siena College, Xavier College, Strathcona Girls Grammar School, Fintona Girls’ School and Deakin University, which adds greater diversity to the property offering in the area.
“While the market is dominated by second and third-home buyers, there are also many options and opportunities for first-home buyers to get their foot in the door of this great suburb of our great state,” said Mr Perdikomatis.
Professionals Camberwell is also planning to develop a property management arm to complement its service offering.
The office officially opened on January 29.
