The rapidly growing Professionals network is expanding into the waterside haven of Oak Flats in the southern Illawarra on the NSW south coast with a new office headed by experienced local agent Phil Muller.
After running his own office at Culburra Beach for more than 20 years and having over 30 years’ experience in the real estate industry, more recently running the sales department at a local agency in the Illawarra region, Mr Muller is planning a business comeback with Professionals Shell Coast.
The office, located at 60A Central Avenue in Oak Flats, is set to employ a small but highly experienced team to service the residential and commercial market of the Shell Harbour suburb which is located along the shores of Lake Illawarra.
“We’re looking to build a strong team to service the Oak Flats area the way I’ve always done, by keeping days on the market to a minimum and getting the best price for our vendors,” said Mr Muller.
“Like the rest of regional NSW and especially the coastal areas, we’re getting our fair share of people looking to relocate here.
“Oak Flats properties are still quite affordable for the Illawarra, which certainly makes them attractive for people looking to downsize.”
Mr Muller said the market, which features many waterfront residences, is tightly held, making it ideal for auction campaigns.
“Taking properties to auction is the best approach when supply is tight, and that’s part of our strategy going forward to ensure our vendors secure a premium for their property.”
Mr Muller said he was drawn to the Professionals Group as he can continue to run his business independently with the backing of a major brand, rather than operating within the constraints of typical franchise models.
“There’s no pressure for sales other than the pressure we place on ourselves to ensure we do our best for vendors.”
Oak Flats has plenty of appeal for buyers, with beautiful wide streets, generally large blocks and easy access to stunning Lake Illawarra. There are ample local schools and transport and a comprehensive local shopping precinct.
“It’s pretty special for a coastal area, making it a market with lots of appeal for families.”
Professionals Shell Coast also has a property management arm, specialising in residential, commercial and industrial property, and is looking forward to building the portfolio.
