After navigating the challenges of the past year to establish a new real estate business in Melbourne’s north, Raghad and Carlos Misho hit the ground running when they finally moved into their permanent office at Coolaroo this year.
The father-and-son team, with extensive combined experience in the local market between them, officially started Professionals Coolaroo in April last year, largely servicing their clients from home.
They planned to move into the new premises in a yet-to-be-built convenience centre proposed for 1540 Pascoe Vale which was due for completion at the end of 2020.
The Professionals Coolaroo team officially opened their new office on January 4, bringing into focus the success of their efforts over the past year.
“It may not have been a conventional approach to establishing a new real estate business, but the hard work we put in over the year has paid off,” said Raghad Misho, a veteran of the industry with more than 20 years’ experience in the local market.
“In hindsight it worked well, considering most of us worked from home last year anyway, and the Professionals team were also fantastic in supporting us throughout this period.
“We always take a personal approach with our clients and that shone through as a key strength of our business. Now that we have a street presence with our new office, we’ve seen a lift in activity and that gives us confidence to meet any challenges ahead.”
Professionals Coolaroo comprises a team of five real estate professionals, including Raghad and Carlos Misho as co-principals, two property managers and a newly appointed sales agent.
“The new office has allowed us to build on the team, which sets us up for further growth,” said Carlos, who at 22 is among the youngest directors of a real estate office in the Professionals group.
“Business was pretty good for us even during the lockdown in terms of listings and sales, and since we’ve moved into the new office, it’s been full steam ahead,” he said.
“Listings have been very strong in recent weeks and we’re expecting more to start coming through.”
Professionals Coolaroo, which services the northern Melbourne suburbs of Broadmeadows, Greenvale and Coolaroo, has been buoyed by the strength of the local market which largely caters to families, first-home buyers and builders.
The Misho family has been a part of the local community for more than two decades, with Raghad beginning his career in real estate at Glenroy and Carlos clocking up six years’ experience in the industry.
“As a family, we have strong relationships with people throughout the community, and as a business that connects us personally with the needs of many of our clients,” said Raghad.
“Now that we have a permanent presence in the area, we’re looking forward to building on our success of the past year.”
