The Professionals Group has made a return to Gladstone amid a solid recovery in the property market over the past year.
Local real estate couple Ron English and Lissa Holgate, who for the past four years have operated under the Knight Frank banner, transitioned to the progressive Professionals group from 2nd March 2020.
Mr English, the agency principal, said the move aligned with a new dynamic emerging in the Gladstone property market which has been buoyed in recent months by major announcements that are poised to kickstart the local economy.
“The focus when we first started here four years ago was very much on commercial properties, but so much has changed in Gladstone since then,” said Mr English.
“The market is really on the move and demand for residential properties has picked up significantly.”
The Professionals office, located at 44 Roseberry Street, Gladstone Central, retains a staff of five that handles commercial and residential property sales and management.
“The Professionals previously had a presence in Gladstone, so while this is a fresh start for us, we are heading into the remainder of the year full of confidence with the backing of one of Australia’s fastest-growing real estate groups,” said Mr English.
He described major announcements in recent months detailing significant capital investments planned for Gladstone as a major shot in the arm for the city.
“That’s led to a big increase in inquiries from residential and commercial investors on a scale we haven’t seen in quite a while.
“Rents are also on the rise and we’re pleased to see Gladstone bouncing back with the news that it has secured industries that will provide long-term jobs for locals.
“We hope the market will maintain that momentum for some time to come and continue to mature in a more measured pace than we have seen in past cycles.”
The Gladstone property market has been buoyed by news this year that it has been chosen for a $200 million high purity alumina plant which will support about 100 jobs.
Gladstone has also just been chosen as the location for a multibillion-dollar chemical complex for industrial-scale production of green hydrogen and ammonia.
