The booming Adelaide Hills and Mount Barker property markets have lured one of Australia’s leading real estate groups into the region.
Professionals will open an office in the region which is exploding in popularity with young families looking to break into the housing market.
Professionals Adelaide Hills co-principal and respected Adelaide property valuer, Paul De Gilio, said with Adelaide’s growth constrained by its geographic location, the Mount Barker region had been earmarked by the State Government for residential expansion.
“With St Vincent Gulf to the west and the hills to the east, Adelaide has traditionally grown to the north and the south,” he said.
“However, in 2010 the State Government identified Mount Barker as part of Adelaide’s urban land supply to accommodate the population growth of Adelaide for the next 15 years.”
Under the plan, Mount Barker and Nairne could supply up to 7000 new residences to help offset Adelaide’s expected growth.
“The area is attracting new home buyers and families looking to expand,” Mr De Gilio said.
“The nearby South Eastern Freeway means it is only 40 minutes to the CBD so it’s an attractive commute.
“Added to that you have the traditional housing market in the Adelaide Hills which is one of the state’s most prestigious real estate precincts.”
Mr De Gilio, who will open the office with co-principal John Kennedy, said being able to call on the backing of one of Australia’s top real estate groups was a huge bonus for the pair.
“We are absolutely thrilled to be able to team with Professionals in this venture,” he said.
“Having the backing of one of the country’s largest and most experienced real estate teams means we are brimming with confidence and we are looking forward to being part of our clients’ real estate solutions for a long time.”
Professionals CEO David Crombie said the Adelaide Hills office would make a great addition to the team.
“Certainly, Paul and John bring a lot of real estate credibility to the table, so we are hoping for some exciting news out of this office,” he said.
“Mount Barker and the Adelaide Hills are hugely popular areas for both new families and first home buyers or for established home owners looking to upgrade.”
Professionals Real Estate Group continues to grow its agency network, aided by its unique membership model.
“Our membership network is different to a franchise system because it allows members to use a well-known real estate brand and to access extensive support through a comprehensive suite of tools and services,” Mr Crombie said.
“As a member of the Professionals network, members have greater autonomy to drive their business forward while also offering the advantage of more attractive fees than a typical franchise.”
