NBCF Golf Day

001_Open2view_ID302488-Professional_breast_cacer_golf_day_11.04.14The annual Professionals Pink Ribbon Golf Day, held on 11th April at the Joondalup Country Club, raised over $10,000 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) – generating a worthwhile contribution at this annual fundraising event.
According to Shane Kempton, CEO of Professionals Real Estate Group, the 2014 Pink Ribbon Golf Day was the most successful to date which has been held annually over the last decade.
“I would like to thank the 150 people who attended the event which raised much needed funds for breast cancer research. In particular, I would like to thank the long term sponsors and supporters of the event which included Wanneroo Mazda who offered a brand new Mazda 2 for anyone who scored a ‘hole in one’ off the designated tee – an achievement which unfortunately no-one achieved despite some very close drives! Professionals have been supporting NBCF for the last decade and during that time we have raised more than $2.2 million nationally through various fundraising events such as our annual golf day and Pink Ribbon Breakfast hosted in October each year. In addition, a proportion of the commission through the sale of every home sold by Professionals offices is donated to this worthy organisation. Professionals are delighted to have now raised over $2.2 million for breast cancer research with these funds helping to make a significant contribution to the eventual eradiation of this terrible disease. When the NBCF was established in 1994, around 30% of women with breast cancer unfortunately did not survive. Over the last 20 years this death rate has been cut by half due to research into the disease and the development of suitable treatments. Thanks to this ongoing research, Australian women with breast cancer have an 89% chance of surviving five years after diagnosis. However, more funds are desperately needed to assist in the fight against breast cancer.  By 2020, it is still predicted that there will be 17,210 new diagnosis of breast cancer – that’s 47 every day. Our goal is to assist NBCF with their objective of finding a cure to stop the disease in its tracks so no more women have to suffer from breast cancer,” he said.
