$30,000 Raised for NBCF at Professionals annual pink breakfast

Professionals Real Estate Group once again hosted the state’s largest Pink Ribbon Breakfast on Friday October 14 at the Astral Ballroom at the Burswood Convention Centre, raising much needed funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF).
According to David Hobbs, CEO of Professionals, over 450 Professionals staff, suppliers, sponsors as well as members of the general public joined together at this year’s Pink Ribbon Breakfast.
“This year’s pink ribbon breakfast was once again a tremendously successful event, raising $34,378.35. Through its fundraising efforts, Professionals have raised $1,712,874 for NBCF since our partnership with the charity began. This sum is significantly boosted each year by funds from the Pink Ribbon Breakfast.
“These funds are desperately required to assist in the fight against breast cancer. Every day in Australia, more than 30 women discover they have breast cancer and it is the most common cancer diagnosed in women aged over 35 years. It is estimated that one in nine women will be diagnosed with the disease in their lifetime and more than 2,600 will die in a single year. Breast Cancer is the second most common cause of cancer death in females after lung cancer.
“The 2011 Pink Ribbon Breakfast was held at the Burswood Convention Centre from 7:00am to 9:30am on Friday 14 October. The event was hosted by Channel 7’s Adrian Barich and featured Daniela and Stefania (Italian Mamas of My Kitchen Rules fame), Georgi Kay (WAM award winning Perth musician) and Angela Hanslip (breast cancer survivor). Attendees also bid on a range of auction items and took part in dozens of raffle draws,” he said.
